Challenge Me Happy 12.1

Hi everyone! This week at Challenge Me Happy we were issued a scraplift challenge. We were given a layout done by the very talented Annelie to lift.

Here is her layout:

And here is my lift, using the BoBunny Apple Cider line. It’s my pretty little Sophie in the pumpkin patch 🙂

I AM IN LOVE….

….with Heidi Swapp’s Memory File system and all of the fun goodies that go along with it!! Can I just way WOW?! I saw it online a while back when she started releasing it, but until we went on vacation and I raided the Archivers in Appleton, WI, I hadn’t seen it in person. One look and I was in love. I bought almost everything they had! This is the perfect solution for me, to have a fun way to keep track of MY memories. I’m always just scrapping for the kids, but I would like to start doing some more memory keeping for myself since I plan to give them all of their books someday. On that note, I stumbled onto this new (to me) challenge blog, Challenge Me Happy, and was excited to participate. I used Heidi’s No Limits Memory File as the base for this project. I really wanted to do something different and outside of the box from what everyone else is doing. Plus I love to try new things!! Challenge #37 is a recipe challenge. We had to use:
one or more stamps
two photos
ribbon or twine or both
two or more paper clips
no cardstock
three patterened papers or more

Here is my project:

Supplies:File folder-Heidi Swapp; paper clips-Studio Calico; Rub ons-Glitz,Heidi Swapp; Patterned Paper-Studio Calico, Basic Grey; Trim-Glitz; Washi tape: Up and Up; Punch: Fiskars; Border Frame-Heidi Swapp; Spray Mist: Mister Huey; Stamps: Studio G; Twine: Hobby Lobby; Stickers-Studio Calico, Heidi Swapp

Challenge Layouts :)

This has been a challenging week in more ways than one, but I was able to squeeze in a couple of layouts by working a little bit at a time. The first one is for the new sketch site Let’s Get Sketchy. I used my new Authentique Genuine paper pack to show off Weston and Opa hanging out at Chuck E. Cheese.

The next layout is for Erika’s Issue Challenge over at Club CK. The challenge was to scrap a special friendship. Sophie and Shelby have been best friends since they first met 2 years ago at Mother’s Day Out. I got a lot of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection in my February Scarlet Lime kit so I used that on this layout.

The last page I did is for Ashley’s Sketch it Out Challenge at Club CK. We had to use her sketch, and as an added twist we had to use chevron, woodgrain, or hexagons. I used chevron and woodgrain. This page documents Weston’s first smile 🙂

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend!! TGIF!!

blog hop winner and a few layouts to share

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my blog during the Valentine’s Day blog hop. I appreciate all of the awesome feedback that I received!! I picked up some new followers, and I hope those of you who have newly subscribed will enjoy my projects 🙂

And now for the winner…..I had Miss Sophie (my 3 year old daughter) randomly draw a winner and she chose PHOTOCHIC!
Congratulations, please email me your info and I will send that Smashbook your way!!

And now for a few layouts…I’ve really enjoyed participating in the Workouts at ScrapFit lately. For this workout, the assignment was to use a cluster. I’m not so good at clustering and layering, it’s a challenge for me. For some reason I never feel like it looks right. Knowing this, I kept my cluster rather small 🙂

I used one of my Scarlet Lime kits to put this together, along with a few bits from my stash. I had fun playing with the BeFunky app on my phone to adjust the color and blur the edges of the photo of Sophie running down the path next to the San Antonio River last weekend.

This next layout I did just for me. Not for any challenge or anything in particular. I just really loved this picture of my baby boy 🙂

Have I mentioned how much fun I am having scrapping a boy after so many years of scrapping girls?!!

See you all tomorrow with my Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays DT project reveal. Oh, and don’t forget later this week Frosted Designs is also hosting the “Love is in the Air” blog hop with some awesome prizes to be given away!

Yay for Challenges!

This week I’ve managed to carve out some scrap time here and there and get a few layouts done. Yay! The first layout I did was for Erika’s Issue Challenge #5–to use brown, teal, and purple on a layout. This is what I came up with:

The next layout I did is actually for 2 challenges. The first one is Erika’s Issue Challenge #6–create a hybrid layout. The green PP, striped PP, banner pieces, blue rick rak, and some of the title letters are all digital (downoaded from Shabby Princess). Everything else is paper. I am also submitting this layout for ScrapFit’s Workout #61–Blank Canvas. I started out with WHITE background paper and built my layout from there using spray mist and digital and paper elements.

Thanks for stopping by!! Don’t forget tomorrow is the Valentine’s Day Card Blog Hop. Check back here for some inspiration and the chance to win a fun prize!

Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays–Sketch #29

This week’s Frosted Designs sketch was designed by Karin and I loved it! I used my November Scarlet Lime kit which was full of all kinds of Studio Calico goodies 🙂
Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch, using some pics of Macie and Sophie cuddling on the porch Thanksgiving morning.

Make sure to link up your take on the sketch at Frosted Designs for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Sarah at the Paper Bakery! You have until noon (est) Sunday, December 11th to link up your project.
