Well, well, well….

Guess who finally was inspired to get scrappy? πŸ™‚ After a long drought, I finally found some time and scrapping mojo. I think with the pressure of no design teams I am feeling a lot more inclined to create. That combined with the LifeBook class that I am taking has really got me feeling inspired. For the past 2 weeks I’ve been knocking out some layouts. I can’t believe how fast some of them came together. Although like any other scrapper, I know that I will never really be caught up, I feel like I’m making some good progress. This is going to be kind of a picture heavy post, but this way I can share with you what I’ve been doing and get caught up on my blogging all at once. I have many friends’ blogs to visit and catch up with as well πŸ™‚

Challenge Me Happy 10.15…and other news

Hi everyone! This week’s assignment for Challenge Me Happy is a photo challenge. This was our inspiration photo:

I got my inspiration from the colors of the photo. Here is my layout:

Be sure to link up your new project using this photo as inspiration at Challenge Me Happy for a chance to win a Nikki Sivils paper pack.

Also this week I had two more layouts featured at Club Creating Keepsakes.

You can view them here.

Sorry for making this so brief, but I am battling a cold right now and not feeling at the top of my game 😦

Challenge Me Happy 10.1.12

At Challenge Me Happy, our challenge was “Anything Goes!”. This is an opportunity to show off your personal best. Here is my DT layout, with my two little munchkins πŸ™‚

Link up your best work at Challenge Me Happy for a chance to win a box of goodies from My Little Shoebox!

I Love Challenges

This week I was able to knock out three…count em…THREE layouts!! Yay! All of these were done for various challenges. The thing I really love about challenges is that:

1. They encourage me to try new things
2. They help me get motivated to scrap all of these photos that are sitting on my computer
3. They’re just plain fun πŸ™‚

I’ve met some very sweet and talented people through these challenges. Especially with Erika’s Issue Challenge at Club CK. Not only is Erika a very talented scrapper, she is one of the nicest people I’ve never met. I say that because we haven’t met in person, but have known each other online for the past 2 years. Every week she takes the time out to really analyze and critique each person’s layout that played along with the challenge. I can not imagine how much time this must take, but her positive and caring words each week mean a lot to everyone who participates. With that said, here is my layout for her challenge this week–Use Hexagons. I love hexagons. Yes, they are trendy and are everywhere in scrapbooking right now. Do I care? Nope. Still love them!! πŸ™‚

Supplies: Patterned Paper-My Mind’s Eye, Ephemera-K&Co, Carstock-DCWV; Letters-American Crafts

My next layout is for Warm Up #30 at Scrapfit (Doodling) and also for this week’s “thought” at *Thinking Through Design*. Their thought this week was on the use of chevrons in scrapbooking. Another trend that is hot right now that I love. It’s such so bold that I feel comfortable using it in smaller doses, like I did in this layout. This is not to say that at some point I might not use more of it, especially after getting so much new product! Not only did I use the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Sketchbook papers (that I FINALLY got!), but I did a little bit of my own personal doodling. Do you see it? πŸ™‚

Supplies: Patterned paper, stickers, letters-American Crafts, Pen-Zig, Circle Cutter-Creative Memories, Cardstock-DCWV, Punch-Fiskars

This layout is for this weeks’s sketch over at Let’s Get Sketchy. I haven’t played along with them in a while, but I loved this sketch and thought it worked well with these pics. I did another layout previously with the same pics using different papers. This one is for my youngest daughter’s book. I wanted both of them to have a page documenting this special memory. This layout features the new Everyday Eclectic collection from Echo Park. Love those papers!!

Supplies: Patterned paper, stickers, letters-Echo Park, Cardstock-DCWV, Font-Ariel, Doilies-Wilton

As I was writing this post, I realized I had also done this layout just for fun. It’s Macie’s Easter layout using an old sketch from Creating Keepsakes Fast Pages with 4 x 6 Photos (an oldie but goodie):

Whew! Sorry for the long post. I’m also working on a post for my new art journaling blog so make sure to swing by and check it out tomorrow! I’d love to see you there as well πŸ™‚ Take care, friends!!

Scrapfit and Issue Challenge Layouts!

Good morning peeps! I have to say that I have been on a scrappy roll lately and I am loving it!! It’s funny how you can miss this hobby so much when you’re strapped for time. Now that I have finished some of my home decor projects and the kids activities have slowed down a bit, I’ve had a bit more time for scrapping and my new addiction…Zumba!!
My first layout is for ScrapFit’s workout #72, a color inspiration workout. We were challenged to use the colors coral, teal, and brown. I had a few sheets of My Mind’s Eye On The Bright Side papers left, and I thought they would work perfectly. Here is my layout:

Next up is my layout for this week’s Issue Challenge at Club CK. This week’s challenge has us using a slang word on our page. I had this sweet pic of Macie and her close friends after one of their basketball games. I thought “Homies” was a pretty appropriate title. Macie isn’t very girly, so I always try and tone down her layouts a bit. The muted colors I think work well with her personality. I also went a little outside my comfort zone by doing some stamping on this layout. I like stamping, but mostly confine it to my art journal or cards. I got the cute arrow and “hey girl” stamps from my friend AndreaJoy. Most of the papers used were from SEI from my Scarlet Lime kit. And in case you were wondering…yes, I hand cut every one of those hexagons πŸ™‚

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays 5.1…and more!

Good morning everyone! Today is going to be a good day because I finally slept all night! πŸ™‚ This week has been going well so far…yesterday I was thrilled to be chosen as this week’s Featured Artist at Let’s Get Sketchy for my “Spring Cutie” layout (see last week’s post). I also was able to get a layout done yesterday. But before that, here is this week’s reveal for Frosted Designs:

The Sketch:

And here is my layout, again using those awesome Authentique papers:

To play along with this challenge and win a kit from Artful Delight, be sure to complete your project using this sketch and link it up to Frosted Designs.

Sidenote: I am also using that layout as one of the Club CK Issue Challenge entries for March/April. We were challenged to create our own circle embellishment. I pieced together the circle using scraps of this same line of paper and topped it off with the large button in the middle.

Yesterday I completed this layout, also for the March/April CK Issue Challenge round.

We had to create a layout with a button banner. I used some of my MME On the Bright Side papers and a sketch by Diana Fischer. I liked using non-traditional colors and papers for an Easter layout.

Well friends, I am off to start my busy day. The girls have dance class and I promised Sophie I would take her to Build A Bear today as a reward for finally getting rid of that pacifier (or as she likes to call it, her “B”). Stay tuned later this week for the Mother’s Day Blog Hop, which will feature lots of fabulous inspiration for your mother’s day projects!

Challenge Layouts :)

This has been a challenging week in more ways than one, but I was able to squeeze in a couple of layouts by working a little bit at a time. The first one is for the new sketch site Let’s Get Sketchy. I used my new Authentique Genuine paper pack to show off Weston and Opa hanging out at Chuck E. Cheese.

The next layout is for Erika’s Issue Challenge over at Club CK. The challenge was to scrap a special friendship. Sophie and Shelby have been best friends since they first met 2 years ago at Mother’s Day Out. I got a lot of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection in my February Scarlet Lime kit so I used that on this layout.

The last page I did is for Ashley’s Sketch it Out Challenge at Club CK. We had to use her sketch, and as an added twist we had to use chevron, woodgrain, or hexagons. I used chevron and woodgrain. This page documents Weston’s first smile πŸ™‚

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend!! TGIF!!
