“Leafing” Memories Behind-Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!! If you didn’t arrive here from Laura’s blog then please go back to the start of the hop at Amanda’s Blog.

One of my fellow “peeps”-Amanda- from Club CK likes to host a fun blog hop every so often and it’s been my pleasure to participate in a few now. This time around our theme is “Leafing” memories behind. We were asked to prepare a layout with a “leafy” theme. I had some really beautiful pictures from our trip to Niagara Falls several years ago. Living in Texas we really don’t get much of a transition from summer to fall. One minute there are leaves on the trees, the next thing you know they are dead and brown laying on the ground! It really was a beautiful experience witnessing the change of leaf colors.

I had fun using different textures on this LO. I used a square of burlap behind the photo and the leaves have a really beautiful texture and depth of color to them. I used faux stitching to simulate the leaves blowing down the page. I did my journaling around the outside of the butterfly paper so it wouldn’t take away from the clean design I was going for.

And now for the fun part….I will be giving away a small fall themed package to a random winner. Simply “leaf” a comment here on my blog for the chance to win. If you are not currently subscribed and you become a new subscriber I will enter your name in the drawing twice (open to US residents only). Thanks for stopping by. Your next stop is the blog of the very talented Steffanie!!

I’m so glad you commented on your swirles because it really does add movement to the page. Great leaves – love the colors and the placement! The burlap is a great design element on the page as well – definitely gives it a leaf rustling feel! Of course this is wonderful – all your creations are! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
