June Blog Hop–Sketch It To Me!!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog! If you didn’t arrive from Laurie’s Blog, then please go back to Amanda’s Blog to start the blog hop.

Well…after how well the last hop went I couldn’t wait to participate in another one! Amanda came up with an awesome sketch, which we had to use for both a layout AND a card. Some of you know I am not much of a card maker, so that part was really challenging for me. Our challenge was to alter the sketch in some way to make it work for us.

So without further ado here is the sketch:

And here is my layout (photography by Beverly Adams Photography):

I altered the sketch to use one 5 x 7 photo instead of the 4×6 and 2×2 photos. I also left off the cluster from the right side of the sketch and I bumped up the journaling a bit. I used some pink tulle for the top cluster, to mimic the tulle in her dance tutu. (By the way, is that a CRAZY outfit or WHAT!!! 🙂 )

And here is my card:

This deviated quite a bit from the sketch. I struggle with cards and wanted to keep it simple, so I kept only one border strip at the bottom (and used ribbon in place of paper). Instead of a title I stamped the sentiment on some PP.

I hope you enjoyed my projects for this fun challenge. If you are not already a follower, I would love to have you as one! I will be offering up a random grab bag of goodies for one randomly selected new subscriber this weekend. I love both your LO and card. I have to say, that is a wild dance outfit!!! But it provided great colour inspiration for your layout! 🙂 I love your card too – the simplicity of it is part of its beauty.
